In this paper the results of inventorying the steppe biotopes and cherry orchards made in 2008-2009 in the area of Královéhradecký and Pardubický regions, areas of lower and middle position in the basin of Labe.

In this paper the complete results of faunistic survey of beetles (Coleoptera) in the Protected Landscape Area and Biospheric Reservation Křivoklátsko (Czech Republic) are given. Within years 1962-2009 there have been found 2402 species and subspecies of beetles (Coleoptera) representing 84 families. Even 2 new species for the Czech Republic and 5 species new for the area of Czech (Bohemia) have been found there, these findings were published separately in magazines Klapalekiana and Acta Entomologica Bohemoslovaca.

The aim of this review was processing and ordinating the knowledge about species of the subfamily Scolytinae feeding on fruit trees in Czech Republic. In Czech Republic dominate four species from two genera. Two species are phloeophagous from genus Scolytus – S. mali and S. rugulosus. Another two species are xylomycetophagous from genus Xyleborus – X. dispar and X. saxeseni. Their most attractive host trees are from family Rosaceae. The woodborers also usually invaded most of the broad leaf tree from other families. The main idea of this paper was to elaborate their ecology – evolution, phenology, number of generations, galleries determination, distribution area, nutrition and symbiotic fungi, predators and parasites etc. Whole should describe their ecological preference to wood plants and should be usable for the study of these beetles.

A rewiew of findings of longhorn-beetle Brachyleptura tesserula (Charpentier, 1825) from Eastern Bohemia. Exact position data, biotope photos and notes on biotope conservation possibilities are added to the text.

Vážení kolegové a přátelé, v příloze najdete fotky dokumentující vykácení aleje vedoucí z Valtic na Rendezvous. Ano, to je TA alej, kde se stávaly fronty na „špeky“ typu Stictoleptura erythroptera a Necydalis ulmi. Též tam bydlel páchník, Rhamnusium, Elater... Vykácena byla alej mezi železnicí a městem Valtice. Je třeba shromáždit co nejvíce údajů o pozorování zvláště chráněných druhů hmyzu (seznam viz níže). Není třeba nic dokládat jedinci, stačí svědectví toho, kdo tam zvíře nebo nesporné známky jeho přítomnosti viděl. Fotky nejsou nezbytné, ale jsou vítané. Díky, Lukáš Čížek

In the area of the floodplain of Labe river between Vysoká nad Labem and Němčice (Czech republic, Eastern Bohemia) I managed to gather faunistic data of 41 species from the family Elateridae, 7 species from the family Throscidae and 3 species from the family Melasidae. This paper contains the faunistic data, photos of some species and their biotopes, notes to their bionomic and practical conservation of endangered biotopes.

A rewiew of the subfamily Negastriinae Nakane et Kishii, 1956, based on new records and literature data, is made.
There are known eleven species of the subfamily Negastriinae from the territory of the Czech and Slovak Republics: Fleutiauxellus maritimus (Curtis, 1840); Negastrius pulchellus (Linnaeus, 1761); N. sabulicola (Boheman, 1852); Oedostethus quadripustulatus (Fabricius, 1792); O. tenuicornis (Germar, 1824); Quasimus minutissimus (Germar, 1817); Zorochros dermestoides (Herbst, 1806); Z. flavipes (Aubé, 1850); Z. meridionalis (Laporte de Castelnau, 1840) and Z. quadriguttatus (Laporte de Castelnau, 1840). Zorochros stibicki Leseigneur, 1970 is recorded for the first time for the fauna of Czech Republic.
Zorochros ponticus Dolin, 1977, generally considered as synonym of Z. ibericus (Franz, 1967), is considered as synonym of Zorochros quadriguttatus (Laporte de Castelnau, 1840).

New distributional data concerning 3 species of the family Throscidae Castelnau, 1840, from Czech and Slovak Republics are provided. Trixagus duvalii (Bonvouloir, 1859) - confirmed occurrence for Slovak Republic; Trixagus exul (Bonvouloir, 1859) – first records for Slovak Republic; Trixagus gracilis Wollaston, 1857 - confirmed occurrence for Czech Republic.
