Abstract. This paper presents the results of an inventory survey of beetles in the territory of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve in the years 2020–2021. It presents an inventory of newly discovered species and species of interest from the faunistic and nature conservation point of view. Through the study of historical sources and especially our own entomological research, 120 new species have been identified for this protected area in this period, which are not covered by our previous works. Of these, three previously published representatives of the family Ptiliidae: Acrotrichis arnoldi (Rosskothen, 1935), Micridium angulicolle (Fairmaire, 1857), Ptiliolum marginatum (Aubé, 1850) and one species of the Staphylinidae: Atheta serrata (G. Benick, 1938) are new species for the Czech Republic. One species of the family Phalacridae previously published is new for the Bohemia region: Phalacrus championi Guillebeau, 1892. Among the more faunistically significant species, new to the Křivoklátsko region, we can mention Atheta boreella (Brundin, 1948), A. voeslauensis Bernhauer, 1944 (Staphylinidae), Atomaria ihsseni (Johnson, 1978), A. pulchra (Erichson, 1846) (Cryptophagidae), Bruchidius cinerascens (Gyllenhal, 1833), Bruchus brachialis (Fåhraeus, 1839) (Chrysomelidae), Dorcatoma punctulata (Mulsant & Rey, 1864) (Ptinidae), Elodes elongatus (Tournier, 1868) (Scirtidae), Epuraea fuscicollis (Stephens, 1835) (Nitidulidae), Haploglossa picipennis (Gyllenhal, 1827), Ochthephilum collare (Reitter, 1884) (Staphylinidae), Oedemera croceicollis (Gyllenhal, 1827) (Oedemeridae), Oxypoda formosa (Kraatz, 1856), Poromniusa procidua Erichson, 1837) (Staphylinidae), Psylliodes reitteri (Weise, 1888) (Chrysomelidae), Sigorus porcus (Fabricius, 1792) (Scarabaeidae), Stichoglossa semirufa (Erichson, 1839), Xantholinus gallicus (Coiffait, 1956) (Staphylinidae) and Xyletinus fibyensis (Lundblad, 1949) (Ptinidae). In connection with the new record of the non-native weevil Euophryum confine (Broun, 1881) from Křivoklátsko, we also present the first record of this species in Moravia and, together with the old record of the mandolin Smaragdina xanthaspis (Germar, 1824), a new record of this species in Milovice, which confirms its modern occurrence in Bohemia. In our study we also present notable records that are already known from this area and have been included in the Red List of Threatened Species of the Czech Republic: Akimerus schaefferi (Laicharting, 1784), Anthaxia nigrojubata incognita Bílý, 1974, Bruchidius picipes Germar, 1823), Cerambyx cerdo Linnaeus, 1758, Cerophytum elateroides Latreille, 1809, Chrysolina asclepiadis bohemica (G. Müller, 1948), Chrysolina umbratilis (Weise, 1887), Coraebus undatus (Fabricius, 1787), Cryptolestes corticinus
(Erichson, 1846), Dermestoides sanguinicollis (Fabricius, 1787), Eledonoprius armatus (Panzer, 1799), Limoniscus violaceus (P. W. J. Müller, 1821), Necydalis ulmi (Chevrolat, 1838), Nivellia sanguinosa (Gyllenhal, 1827), Oxylaemus variolosus (Dufour, 1843), Purpuricenus kaehleri (Linnaeus, 1758), Quedius brevicornis (C. G. Thomson, 1860), Q. truncicola Fairmaire & Laboulbène, 1856, Stictoleptura erythroptera (Hagenbach, 1822), Timarcha goettingensis (Linnaeus, 1760), Trachyphloeus heymesi Hubenthal, 1934 and Zeteotomus brevicornis (Erichson, 1839) among others. A total of 3683 species of Coleoptera, of which 836 are included in the Red List of Threatened Species of the Czech Republic, are currently registered in the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. Phytoecia pustulata (Schrank, 1776) (Cerambycidae) is reclassified from the bioindicator group 4 to 2. Corticeus fraxini (Kugelann, 1794) (Tenebrionidae) is excluded from the category EN (endagered). Stichoglossa semirufa (Erichson, 1839) (Staphylinidae) is newly included in the bioindicator group R1 and category CR (critically endangered) of the czech red list.

Assemblages of some beetle families were investigated on three transitorily non-
cultivated sandy fields near the Brambory and Horušice villages in the Kutná Hora
region (central Bohemia). During the ten-year study period (2012, 2014–2021), a total
of 55 threatened or regionally significant species were collected using various methods
of sampling. Seven recorded taxa (Amara tricuspidata Dejean, 1831, Anthicus
bimaculatus (Illiger, 1801), Harpalus flavescens (Piller & Mitterpacher, 1783), H. hirtipes
(Panzer, 1796), Dicronychus equiseti (Herbst, 1784), Negastrius sabulicola (Boheman,
1852) and Polyphylla fullo (Linnaeus, 1758)) belong to the most regionally significant
beetles. The authors consider the findings of a large number of psammobiont and
psammophilous species to be very valuable with regard to the decrease of non-forest
sandy areas in the Czech Republic.

Otho sphondyloides (Germar, 1818) belongs to the subfamily Melasinae, tribe
Calyptocerini (Coleoptera: Eucnemidae). It is a widespread but seldom encoutered false
click beetle with the range reaching from northern Germany and Carinthia in Austria to
Korea and Japan. Although O. sphondyloides has already been reported from several
isolated localities in Central Europe, no record has been available from the Czech
Republic. Here, I report the occurrence in Southern Moravia, in the lowland deciduous
primary forests close to the junction of the Morava and Dyje rivers (Soutok area, South
Moravia Biosphere Region). The new record indicates that the species might persist in
further undisturbed localities in the region. Biology notes and the records of other
xylophagous beetles occurring in the same locality are provided.

The taxonomic status of several species of the genera Dicronychus Brullé, 1832 and
Cardiophorus Eschscholtz, 1829 is treated herein. The identifications of Dicronychus
equiseti (Herbst, 1784), D. equisetioides Lohse, 1976 and D. luciae Laibner, 1985 by
Stanislav Laibner are revised. The following new synonymy is proposed: Dicronychus
luciae Laibner, 1985 = Dicronychus equiseti (Herbst, 1784) syn. nov. The species
Dicronychus testaceus (Fabricius 1792) stat. n. is newly treated as a bona fide species,
based on the morphological study of the male and female genitalia, especially aedeagus
and bursa copulatrix. An overview of other species from the ‚Dicronychus cinereus
group‘ known from Europe, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia and Iran is likewise presented
herein. The atypical shapes of lateral sclerites of brusa copulatrix from south-Moravian
(Czechia) population of Cardiophorus dolini Mardjanian, 1985 are mentioned and
described. A correction of errors published in Mertlik (2011) is presented. The paper is
concluded with a Czech and Slovak faunistic survey of Dicronychus cinereus and
records of D. testaceus stat. n. from Czechia, Slovakia, Austria, Croatia, Serbia,
Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Russia.
