Abstract. Greece provides a rich fauna of insects. Here eight first records of click-beetles (Elateridae Leach, 1815) from Greece are presented. The eight species are: Anostirus purpureus (Poda, 1761), Ctenicera pectinicornis (Linnaeus, 1758), Ctenicera virens (Schrank, 1781), Denticollis rubens Piller & Mitterpacher, 1783, Ectinus aterrimus (Linnaeus, 1761), Elathous mertliki Platia & Schimmel, 1992, Idolus picipennis (Bach, 1852) and Lacon ladae Mertlik & Dušánek, 2006. The habitus, genital and antennae of Elathous mertliki Platia & Schimmel, so far only reported from the hollow type, are figured.

Introduction
This article contributes eight new records for Greece for beetle species from the family Elateridae. The fauna of this family from Greece was recently (since 2000) discussed by G. Platia and I. Gudenzi (2000a, b; 2001; 2002, 2003), M. Zeising und G. Brunne (2005), J. Mertlik and V. Dušánek (2006), G. Platia and I. Gudenzi (2007), G. Platia (2008), G. Platia and I. Gudenzi (2009) and Platia (2010).
The proved species were collected in the course of two excursions in the years 2008 and 2010 and from a private collection.
